Prevalence

Anxiety Disorders are common in the general population. Within the group of Anxiety Disorders, prevalence rates differ. The very large scale American Epidemiological Catchment Area (ECA) study and its follow up (the National Co-morbidity Survey) identified the rates shown in light blue.

For comparison, Somers et al's  systematic review of international prevalence rates in "International prevalence and incidence rates of Anxiety Disorders" (Canadian J Psychiatry 2006) is shown in parentheses.
