Age Differences
Age of onset for simple phobias tends to be in childhood, but most other Anxiety Disorders arise in late-adolescence or early adulthood.
Anxiety Disorders become less common in old age - Studies from the USA quote 1 year prevalence rates of approximately 10% amongst >55s vs.16% in the general population
