Virtual Cases

One of the difficulties of being a medical student is that you hardly ever get to see how a patient’s illness changes over time. Another difficulty is that although on attachment you discuss the cases you clerk with a tutor, there is often not the time to talk through the case to the level of detail you might want. Our aim for the Virtual Cases we present here is that they will complement (not replace) the cases you see on attachment.

We have created what we hope are compelling stories, based on our own professional experiences. We hope that you will enjoy this opportunity to see how illnesses evolve over time and how patients (and those who care for them) adapt to these changes. We also hope that you will end up feeling that you have taken some responsibility for these patients, and grown in understanding as a result.

If you wish to obtain a certificate having worked through a case, please be aware you must answer every single question as you work sequentially through it. The cases are designed so that they will not print unless all questions have been answered.
