Psychological treatments
Cognitive Stimulation is a structured programme of mental and physical activity which is of proven benefit in improving cognition and quality of life in Dementia. NICE recommends that it should be offered routinely to all people with Dementia.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In theory it would be difficult to carry out standard CBT with people who are likely to forget information and have difficulty with thinking. However, it is possible to modify CBT programmes and there is limited Evidence that people who have dementia as well as depression or Anxiety can benefit from modified CBT.
