Introduction
Aims
As you have learnt in modules 1 and 2, SAM children need special and priority care. They
need to be screened quickly to decide what immediate action is required. In this
module, you will learn how to decide if a SAM child should be managed in the community
or in the hospital. You will also learn the 10 essential steps to managing malnutrition,
known as the WHO ten steps for the management of malnutrition.
