Introduction
So now we know how our cells recognise a pathogen and even how they can discriminate between harmless and harmful microbes. But knowing that the pathogen is there is all well and good! The big question is how we get rid of it! In this section we will look a bit closer at what weapons our innate immune cells have to hand to fight the invader! As you will find out our cells can either eat the pathogen, called phagocytosis, or spit poisons at them which we will cover in the section on degranulation.
