2. Which of the steps below would you take when measuring length?
a) Lay the measuring board on a flat table.
b) Remove hair or head pieces if they interfere with measurement.
c) Remove coats, shoes and socks.
d) Make sure the child’s head is against the headboard, and shins or knees are gently but firmly pressed and straightened.
e) Straighten the knees of newborns to the same degree as older children.
f) Place the foot piece firmly against the child’s feet so that her soles are flat on the board and pointing up.
g) Read the measurement to the nearest centimetre. If the reading falls between two values, read the lower value.
