Swearing/cursing is impolite and bad etiquette on Twitter. As with email, don't tweet if you are drunk, angry or upset.

If you think you're sending a private Direct Message double check to make sure you're not sending a public reply as this may cause you problems later on or embarrassment depending on the contents of the message.

It's OK to unfollow people on Twitter. Unfollowing doesn't automatically mean "I don't like you".

Pause before tweeting. Once it's posted it's out there and part of your digital footprint EVEN if you delete it so watch out for spelling mistakes and posting inflammatory responses to criticism or anything else which might come back to cause you a problem in what you've said at a later date.
